Questions about the BoolProp Challenge?

Oh. My. GOODNESS! This must be the reason that I've been putting off my legacy for so long! I was just waiting for some fresh wackiness! Consider me signed up for the task!

A question in regards to the bad apple mini-challenge. They're non-controllable until adulthood, right? What about homework? In childhood I don't see that being too much of a problem since they autonomously place their homework on the floor and their siblings can probably do it for them, but what about in college? Although, I guess they can autonomously go to class then... so yeah. That should be interesting!

You can have an adult click on the homework and help the child with homework which can force them to do it without controlling them. I suggest you wait until their fun is up a bit or they will throw a fit and walk away. The only way such a naughty child would ever do their homework is if the child was dragged by the ear over to it and and stood over while they did it! I suppose you can also have them pressure one of the nicer siblings to do it for them in a pinch, what a little brat! I think I am going to change the mini-challenge to say the silbing must at least be a friend to the bad apple to do their homework for them.

As for college I said they would abide by Simself rules, eight command chances a day, but you still may not view their wants and needs. Though, they are instructed to fail out directly, as a bad apple truly should, to get the extra fear slot! It would be possible to get the bad apple through college in this manner, but unreasonably difficult for a ten point bonus, I think. Considering it's impossible to influence someone to skill anything besides Creativity, Logic and Body without directly controlling them unless you have relevant career rewards... do you guys honestly want to give a go? I'll give you guys an out if you don't, either way.

Is there like a deadline for doing this challenge? Like if I'm doing my legacy at the moment & I want to get that done before I start this challenge, would I be allowed to do that? Or do I have to start it soon?

This sounds really fun, so I'm going to give it a go but before I can start, what sort of lot do you begin on? I'm persuming legacy style but I'm not sure.

This challenge is going to be ongoing, in fact we are going to try and keep it fresh by releasing new bonuses for when new EPs come out and new mini-challenges once and a while for you to try. So, do it whenever you feel you have time to.

As for the size lot, any size lot, with or without a pre-built house, that your Sims can afford either straight out of college or straight out of the bin is allowed. Just make sure it's a good enough size to stay on for the duration of the challenge for a family that's going to average about five Sims if not more. *goes to add that to the rules*

Okay, querry about the hacks.

I have a lot of hacks that are mostly cosmetic (No 'What's This' Hack) and a few that I think should've been fixed a long time ago (I have one that fixes the children stopping whatever their doing to hug their parents.)

But there are a few I'm worried about
No Age Discrimination allows Elders to get adult jobs on the computer.
Pregnancy for All, Marriage Not Joining, and Have Not Adopt are all same-sex hacks.
Phone Hack, which allows no one to make a stupid call, they call and they chat.

May I use these hacks?

For No 'What's This' you can have it, it just saves you clicking it out of their queue, but keep in mind it might come in handy to have a Bad Apple or a Simself you can't control at the moment be drawn to a new object, for whatever reason. The queue stomping for hugging was fixed in a patch I believe so you can keep that hack as well.

No Age Discrimination is unfair for people without the hack, so I'd have to say no. Pregnancy for All a huge yes, saves clicking since I ask that same sex couples woohoo before using Tombstone of L&D, a huge yes also to Marriage Not Joining as that's purely cosmetic. Keep in mind that you may not use Have Not Adopt for your three mandatory pregnancies. They must be pregnancies with all the pitfalls that accompany them. Otherwise that hack is just fine, it's cosmetic. Phone Hack saves clicking and reduces annoyance, it's fine too.

Basic rule of thumb if it's cosmetic, can be avoided in normal game play, or saves clicking you would be doing anyway (such as calling them back up after they call you and doing so again, and again, and again to get up relationship) then it's fine. If it unfairly stacks game play advantage in your favor by making your Sims be able to do things that would otherwise be impossible no matter how much clicking you do then it's a no.

And about the lots, we're allowed to rebuilt if we start with a premade, right?

Yes, that's fine. I just ask that you stay put on the lot you decide on, that's all.

Have Not Adopt fixes the wants so same sex couples WANT kids, and not adopt them. If they do adopt, however, they'll continue to want to Adopt. It's for Same-Sex couples.

Sounds fine to me. You can keep that hack in. It makes things more fair, since we are already allowing same sex couples to have genetic children.

This sounds like a lot of fun Bitsy and a perfect destraction for when I don't feel like playing my main legacy. I have a quick clarification question about the bonuses. Can you only pick one EP bonus set to work on or all they all fair game if you have those EPs? I only ask because it would seem like a person running only the base game would only have three bonus options while a person running all EPs would have 21.

Oh, this sounds like great fun... I think I'll give it a try and see how it goes! I especially like the Golden Trio side challenge.
Couldn't we make a quads challenge, too?

Adding to Penguingirl's question - can we combine the bonuses from different EPs or do we have to do a whole set for it to count?

And - if I choose the OFB bonuses, could I combine that with BoolProp Clubhouse side challenge? Probably not, right?

I'm very much looking forward to do this challenge, but there are a few things I'm unsure of:

What is meant by "roll call" every morning? I understand that the kicked-over flamingos have to be straightned up every morning, but is that what is meant by roll call or is there something more to it?

Concerning the Simself rule, does "Ask to join"(watching tv, play chess, hang out etc.) and "call to meal" count as commands?

Can the Bad Apple be from one of the mandatory pregnancies? If yes, then there would be only two potential heirs to poll.

What is the best way to log the progress of the challenge? Are there certain events that MUST be photographed?

This challenge sounds like a right hoot and I'm itching to get started, and I'm also looking forward to see how everyone else get on with it.
