Pseudo Sidelines

These are side stories about the extended family. Because there's only so many hours in the day, not every tidbit about the extended Legacina family tree can make it into an update. That doesn't mean I'm not still playing those sims, though. Their stories will be shared on LiveJournal.

The Thompsons - Chastity's Story




I've been playing sims since April 2006 and have been aware of legacies since around June of 2006, but this is the first one I've actually started. I call it a 'Pseudo' legacy because I'm not following the rules comlpetely, and I'm most definitely not scoring. I have a number of hacks in my game that I'd really rather not play without, and therefore don't really qualify to be a real legacy. Either way, I hope people read it and enjoy it. I know I've definitely had fun playing it, and I'm hoping I can keep up with the enjoying to write it.

Please let me know what you think. I'd love any sort of feedback or constructive criticism people can give. Even if you just want to let me know you liked it, that's okay too.

A great start! I love the prologue and you've managed to make the actual legacy chapter into an interesting narrative as well. I think it's great when it's proper writing not just comments. I look forward to the next chapters.

Thanks for the comment. Both here, and in the guest book. I'm hoping to have Chapter 2.1 up soon. I realized if I keep going at the rate I'm going, I definitely need to break chapters up. So, the girls will get their own college chapter.

I can't wait to do a poll for Gen 3 heir. I love these kids.

Good start and a great writing style Orikes. I think a lot of us got hooked on legacies from reading the ones at Boolprop, especially Candi's uglacy. I also didn't start a legacy at first because of the hacks I had, but when I installed OFB, I got rid of all the ones that change the game play. Just out of curiosity, since you aren't scoring and consider it a pseudo legacy, will you be incorporating some of those hacks into the storyline?

Actually, one of the hacks has already made its present felt in the legacy. TwoJeff's Autonomous Casual Romance was directly responsible for the whole thing with Cherry. I'd already decided to hook Taylor up with Professor Kelly, but while I was looking at something else, I suddenly had a cut scene on my computer of Cherry and Taylor autonomously woohooing in the double bed I'd bought for him and Professor Kelly. Oops.

What's fun, is it gets even more interesting in the next chapter. I'm hoping to get the college part of it up this weekend sometime. There's a couple of story relevant shots I need to create first, though.

(I've used my Pleasantview as a testing grounds of sort, so I've got clones of the legacy sims over there that I can pull around and set up certain shots. I did that with Taylor and his parents for the prologue, and then put him in Uni so I could get a couple extra shots that I needed.)

I'm glad you guys have enjoyed it. I'm loving coming up with story ideas for it.

Great story as usual- I like the fact that it is a story instead of straight forward narration. Also some quality lines with the streaker:

I just finished your legacy...the title caught my eye, and I have to say it was an amazing read. I loved the background (most people don't do that) and the fact that there's an ongoing plot with Kirstial. You throw out some pretty awesome lines, too. I can't wait to see what happens next ^_^

Whee! Thanks for the feedback folks. I really do appreciate it. I really can play the game all day just for myself, but I'm finding that I like having an audience for the stories.

I've got one more part I need to do to finish out Chapter 2, and then I can get on to Chapter 3 and an heir poll. I love Zoey and Christian's kids and can't wait to find out what everyone else thinks of them.

what can i say?
it's excellent so far, and i'm only half way through the first part of the second chapter.

i especially like the setup of the whole prophecy thing. it makes things interesting.
and your style certainly is another breath of fresh air, i thought i was going to die what with all the oh so common things are like this and this and this legacy writing... erm, style.

and shall i say, taylor most certainly is smurlee.
i'd woo and hoo him in a second.

And, since you obviously seem interested in this house, it's now under OUR protection."

You tell her, Balin! Wow, I think that was my favorite quote. I think it's awesome you tied in the wolves, the matchmaker and the vampires. It adds a lot to your story.

Christian is so dumb but so cute. I love him. How did you get Sandy Bruty to babysit? (That part was really cute.) I've been wondering if the social worker will come if the baby is left with a visiting nonplayable sim, but never tried it. Charlie and Vic are really cute together too ^_^

And oh man I did not see that twist coming. Kirstial is horrible. *stabs her* I hope Christian and Zoey get back together. Tamara was just taking unfair advantage of his absentmindedness.

Another great chapter and the storyline is intriguing. Vampires, packleaders (the mayonaise line was gold) and dimwitted legacy husbands. Still don't know how he could cheat on his wife with THAT thing, but it is the same world were Sandy Bruty is romance.
